Oh, hi again friends! We realize that it has been a few months, so sorry! Our team had some awesome personal milestones the last half of 2019 (babies, weddings, moves, trips, etc.) which made for an even more busy few months. We absolutely love the small team that we have here, when one person is gone it takes a lot for everyone else to cover their tasks. With that being said, some things (like blogging and social media posts) got put on hold while we made sure that the most important tasks were getting done to our standards. But we are back now!

What a year 2019 was! Aside from what we accomplished in our personal lives mentioned above, we had a phenomenal year here at Bread & Chocolate! We had even more weddings than we had in 2018 and were much more busy with corporate weekday events. We worked with some amazing couples, families, vendors, organizations and companies and our hearts were full. We’ve said it before (plenty of times) and we will continue to say it… we are so thankful to work with the best people!

We are looking forward to all that 2020 has to offer! Thank you all for trusting us with your important events. We love what we do and we look forward to serving even more people this year!

Cheers!

Holiday Cheer

Does anyone else absolutely love watching Hallmark movies around the holiday season, or is it just me? It’s pathetic, I always know within the first two minutes of the movie exactly what will happen because all Hallmark movies basically follow the same plot. So, why do I and so many others love watching them so much? I believe it’s the underlying themes that pull me in; each movie seems to highlight the spirit of the holidays, reminding me that there’s something magical about this time of year.

Reading through social media posts, watching the news, and listening to friends and families speak, it seems as though 2016 was a rough year for many. With a hard year behind folks and the anticipation of a new year, it is our hope that people aren’t skipping out on spreading that holiday cheer this season!

During this year, it’s especially important to show kindness and spread some much needed cheer by doing small (or large) acts of kindness. It could be as simple as holding the door open for a stranger or even just going out of your way to thank someone. Or you could try some of these other ideas: shovel someone’s driveway, pay for someone’s coffee, donate to a local organization, hand out flowers to employees at local businesses, volunteer your time or talents to nonprofits, or pass out treats to your neighbors – the possibilities are endless. Invite your friends, family and/or coworkers to do the same!

With the holidays coming up, we want to remind you that beginning on December 19th, our office will be open by appointment only. We will resume regular office hours at 9am on Tuesday, January 3rd. If you would like to set up a time to come in and see our space or talk with our staff, please make prior arrangements.

We hope that everyone has a wonderful holiday season and that it is truly merry and bright!
